Since July 2023, I have been part of House of Netix, leveraging my background in hospitality and business administration. My studies at Hotel Management School Maastricht (BBA) and De Rooi Pannen Breda (Secondary Vocational Education in Hospitality) have shaped my ability to think both strategically and practically. With extensive international work experience, I have developed strong cultural awareness, an open mindset, and a broad perspective.
One of my most memorable travel experiences was in Colombia and Sri Lanka. Colombia, in particular, stood out for its diversity, but more so for the incredible hospitality and simple way of life. People there are genuinely happy with little and deeply grateful for things we often take for granted. This experience reinforced my belief in my favorite travel quote:
“Money will return, memories last forever.”
That’s why I love working in the travel industry. The connection with people is strong—we are all united by our shared passion for travel. Exploring new countries, cities, traditions, and cultures keeps my curiosity alive, and the dynamic nature of the industry ensures there’s never a dull moment.
A career highlight I am particularly proud of is securing two new Travel Agent Partners for Marriott’s exclusive luxury travel program. After a year of hard work, seeing this come to fruition was a huge accomplishment. Additionally, the first-ever Dutch partner was accepted into the program, making this achievement even more unique. Our portfolio in the Benelux has doubled from two to four partners, which is a major milestone.
Navigating the travel industry comes with its challenges. With multiple stakeholders involved, my role often requires balancing communication between partners and hotels, while ensuring smooth collaboration. Strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to keep an overview are essential—especially as our hotel portfolio continues to grow.
I would describe myself as a hard worker, passionate, dedicated and a team player—a mindset that likely comes from my years as a competitive gymnast.
If I could master one new skill, it would be learning languages easily—or launching an amazing start-up that I could later sell, allowing me to travel the world.
