Esther ‘t Hoen

Account Manager

I have been with the company for two and a half years, bringing a background in Hospitality Management from the Hotelschool in Leeuwarden. During my studies, I gained knowledge about all aspects of hotel management, from hands-on experience to sales and marketing. Beyond the theory, my education also taught me how to work with different cultures and approach challenges with a positive mindset. My event sales internship at one of London’s largest hotels was an incredible start to my career, and I still benefit from that experience today.

My most memorable trip was to New Zealand. It truly feels like being on the other side of the world, with its untouched nature and unique flora and fauna. Driving through the country, the scenery constantly changes—from mountain landscapes to fjords and beaches. New Zealand has it all.

“Collect moments, not things.”

What makes the travel industry so special is the people who work in it. They are service-minded and genuinely passionate about what they do. One of my proudest moments was organizing our annual client event for two years in a row together with my colleagues. The positive feedback we received from both clients and hotel partners made it a truly rewarding experience.

Large multinational companies often have multiple departments handling different aspects of travel, such as meeting bookers. One of the biggest challenges is identifying all decision-makers within an organization. Through strategic mapping, I ensure that the right people are engaged, making it easier to close business deals effectively.

Colleagues would describe me as creative, communicative, and spontaneous.

In my free time, I’m still very much involved in travel. I’ve planned two complete trips from A to Z for my boyfriend, four friends, and myself—one to the USA and another to South Africa. Organizing every detail and creating unforgettable experiences for others is something I truly enjoy.

If I could learn something completely unrelated to work, it would be to play a musical instrument.
